City Walk through Salzburg „The Classic“
Join me on a classic old town walk and I will show you what Salzburg has to offer. Did you know that Mozart was a regular guest at Tomaselli, Salzburg’s oldest coffee house, drinking almond milk? Or have you always wanted to explore “the Rome north of the Alps” and marvel at the masterly architecture?
Passing Mozart’s birthplace we walk towards baroque Salzburg, which has been the seat of archbishops and sovereigns for more than 1,000 years and has been declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1997. All of this and much more I will tell you, show you, and explain to you in lively pictures in a two-hour tour (fees and bookings).

Salzburg after Dark – An Eerie Walk through Town
Get to know the darkest secrets of Salzburg on a walk through town. On the way you will hear many spine-chilling stories that took place hundreds of years ago in Salzburg. Furthermore you will find out why we only get scared in the dark.
The focus will be on the witch trials of the 17th century. You will learn about the sorcerer “Jakl,” who was up to no good in the town of Salzburg; and witches’ Sabbaths, where the sorceresses joined up with Satan. These black masses were held for example on the Gaisberg Mountain. There are also blood-curdling stories to be told about St. Peter’s cemetery and, of course, the Hohensalzburg Fortress. The “White Woman” is supposed to have haunted the fortress especially at full moon until finally the whole place was illuminated at night and she disappeared.
The town hall, the Waagplatz, and the New Residence are further stops on our journey. These places have dark histories as prisons, torture chambers, and places of execution. You will shudder to hear about torture practices and why alleged sorcerers and witches had their hair shorn and were washed with holy water.
We gain additional information about the dark Middle Ages from the so-called “Hexenbulle,” a script from 1485 which tells exactly how to protect oneself from witches. Let yourself be bewitched and come along on an eerie walk through Salzburg in the dark…
